Originally named “Alinjarra”, an Aboriginal word for ‘north’ the suburb was started in 1977, the name changed to Alexander Heights in 1987, this name was derived from Alexander Drive, the main arterial road into the area.
The housing and make up of the suburb is diverse in as such as there are the older style homes right up to brand new. Located just 14 km’s from the city centre the suburb attracts a wide range of age groups.
Location is the key here just being 15km’s from Hillary’s Boat Harbour, and quick drive to the wineries and restaurants in the famous Swan Valley. For the younger members of the family we have Whiteman Park, excellent transport to the city and Morley Galleria.
The local shopping centre at Alexander Heights is home to Coles and Woolworths along with numerous small speciality shops, this along with the several parks and ovals make the suburb a great place to live for all familys.
